Lewes District Council

Our Regeneration department plays an important role in helping support the local economy; we are specifically concerned with the economic well-being and quality of life within the region. We work with central government to draw down funding to achieve this and have been successful in our bids to the Future High Streets Fund, Towns Fund and Levelling Up Fund for Newhaven. Our officers have led the design of this engagement platform and will be on hand to answer any of your questions. Email: yournewhaven@lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk

Newhaven Enterprise Zone Logo

Newhaven Enterprise Zone

Newhaven Enterprise Zone is a collaboration between Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership and Lewes District Council and commenced in April 2017. Located between several key transport links and already home to a number of rapidly growing companies, Newhaven provides fantastic opportunities for businesses looking to thrive in this growing economy. What is an Enterprise Zone? Enterprise Zones have been set up by the government to drive local growth. They offer a range of incentives to businesses, such as business rate relief and simplified planning. By unlocking key development sites, consolidating infrastructure, attracting new businesses and creating jobs, Enterprise Zones offer benefits to surrounding communities. All business rate growth generated by the Enterprise Zones is kept by the relevant local enterprise partnership and local authority for 25 years, allowing them to reinvest in local economic growth.
